Christopher Pelonzi, current Director of Music for the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the Portland Peninsula & Island Parishes, is a rising talent in Maine. As organist, he has performed with the Portland Symphony Orchestra, ChoralArt, Oratorio Chorale, and numerous others in addition to solo recitals all across the East Coast and Canada. He regularly performs on Harpsichord with St. Mary’s Schola and is a founding member of the Sul Cappello Ensemble. In addition to performance, Mr. Pelonzi takes active roles in musical leadership. As a conductor, he has directed many workshops for parish musicians and conducted several choirs over twelve years of music ministry work. Currently, he is the Sub-Dean of the Portland Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, Conductor of the Cathedral Consort, and Advisory Board member with Friends of the Kotzschmar Organ. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Music from McGill University and is currently finishing a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting at the University of Southern Maine.
